St. Theresa’s began as a mission and Catholics held mass in parishioners’ homes, above the drug store, and local funeral homes. The church is named for St. Therese of Lisieux, meaning “little flower.” Construction of our current church began in the summer of 1967 and was completed in the spring of 1968. On May 26, 1968, the doors were opened, and parishioners since that time have become a family. Our membership is dictated primarily by the local economy, and we currently have approximately 20 families registered.
